Home - Village of Bible Hill, Nova Scotia

Village of Bible Hill is a primarily residential community of about 5,000 residents located in Nova Scotia, situated north of the Salmon River and north-east of neighbouring Truro. Centrally positioned in Nova Scotia and Colchester County, Village of Bible Hill is about forty minutes from New Glasgow, sixty minutes from downtown Halifax and three and a half hours from Sydney. Bible Hill has nearby access to Trans-Canada Hwy 102 and 104 and is within close proximity to CN rail service. The Village’s central location makes it an ideal place to live, work, play and learn! The community offers the size, amenities and feel of a town, and is an increasingly vibrant, safe and welcoming place to call home at any stage of life. Bible Hill is the proud home of the historic and ever-expanding Dalhousie University Faculty of Agriculture (DAL AC), which welcomes over one-thousand students from across the world annually for industry-leading education and research. The university is the only agricultural campus in Atlantic Canada, as well as the only campus in Canada with an on-site teaching farm, and the only North American campus with a biomass ‘ORC’ electrical generation and heating system, delivering renewable energy to the campus and the Nova Scotia electrical grid. Complementing the academic, residence, gymnasium and other facilities, the University operates campus gardens, greenhouses and nearly 1,000 acres of research fields. Bible Hill is also home to Perennia Innovation Park, Nova Scotia Provincial Exhibition Commission, Truro Raceway, RCMP Colchester County detachment, Scotia Pool - Glen W. Smith Community Pool indoor warm-water swimming facility, an assortment of restaurants, auto dealers, and other commercial areas. The Village offers a 30+ member volunteer fire brigade, three schools, nine recreation parks with two major areas for organized sports including six baseball fields, a soccer field, summer splash pad, natural and conventional playground equipment, and village maintained walking trails.
